It operates on the next generation Maemo 5 operating system and has all its functionality derived from Linux software. Its fast processor speed enables the user to launch plenty of applications in one go therefore giving the option of multitasking. It has a side sliding QWERTY keyboard with a 3.5 inches wide touchscreen. This wide VGA screen helps in viewing images, watching movies/videos, playing games and surfing the Internet in superb quality. Internet surfing speed is greatly enhanced due to the presence of HSCSD, Wi-Fi. Pages on the website can be easily surfed and read as the display is large and wide to allow that. Images can be clicked in surreal quality using its five megapixel camera along with features of autofocus, dual LED flash and a video light operating on a Carl Zeiss optics lens. The storage space is wide enough to store large number of files in various files and formats. Internal memory is of 32GB which can be further extended by upto 16GB using a microSD card.

Nokia has started deliveries of its new top-of-the-range model N900, a key product for the world’s top phone maker in its battle against rivals iPhone and Blackberry.

Nokia Chief Executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo said in a speech the consort started deliveries of the phone on Tuesday.
